
Dr. Caitlin Youngquist holds a PhD in soil science and specializes in soil health and function, regenerative agriculture, compost, education, and community building. She has a valuable range of experience and skills that includes on-farm research, community education, writing, mentoring, and training agriculture professionals across the United States. She studied animal science, compost and soil science at Washington State University and worked with Conservation Districts and non-profits before starting a career in Extension. She served ranchers and farmers in Wyoming as an Extension Educator with the University of Wyoming for nine years, and now as a small business owner and consultant.

Caitlin has lead research and extension projects, taught, and published on regenerative agriculture, soil health, no-till farming and gardening, cover crops, integrating crops and livestock, compost, ancient grains, community food security, and mental health in agriculture. Years of working with multi-generational farms and ranches has helped her appreciate the human components of soil health and regenerative agriculture. She is passionate about working with land managers and soil stewards to help them implement restoration strategies and soil health practices, on operations large and small.
She loves to think outside the box, connect people and ideas, inspire change, and help find solutions to impossible problems. As a business owner and small farmer, she knows the challenges faced on the ground when it comes time to implement all of the of the good ideas, and expert advice.
Caitlin is deeply committed to service in her professional and personal life, including work as a volunteer firefighter, a mentor for new hunters, and serving on several local boards and committees
